The device has an outer flange (11) mounted on a case (3) and on which a static joint seal (20) made of elastomer material is provided. The elastomer material is molded on the flange and is extended till a circular inner armature to constitute a sealed connection between the flange and the armature. The armature is partly molded by elastomer material and supports a dynamic sealing lip (6) contacting with a shaft (2). The connection has an elastically deformable annular portion (5A) and is moved freely to permit radial and axial clearance of the armature with respect to the flange.
