Force estimating method for aircraft i.e. cargo aircraft, involves calculating hinge moments generated on surface based on current values, adding moments and dividing added moments by arm value to estimate forces exerted on surface
The method involves generating current values of data relative to an aircraft i.e. cargo aircraft, and its flight, and determining a lever arm value of an actuator from a current value of deflection of a control surface i.e. movable aerodynamic surface, and surface's geometric characteristics. Hinge moments such as aerodynamic moment, another hinge moment and internal moment, generated on the surface, are calculated based on the current values. The calculated moments are added. The added moments are divided by the arm value, using a dividing unit (13) to estimate forces exerted on the surface. The aerodynamic moment depends on current values of dynamic pressure, local incidence and deflection of the surface and the other hinge moment generated by the surface mass, depends on a current value of a load factor and the mass. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a force estimating device comprising a receiving unit (2) a force estimating system comprising a current value determining unit.
