The lift (1) has a platform (7) and an elevation structure for elevating the platform with respect to a motor (4) connected to a chassis (2). The structure includes hydraulic actuators (51, 63) supplied with pressurized oil during operation of the lift. Sensors detect variations of configuration of the structure, when the lift is at stop. The structure includes a mast (6) whose length (L6) and/or orientation (alpha-6) with respect to a reference axis (X-X') are variable. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring an aerial lift.
