The device has an adjusting element (7) arranged on an artificial breathing apparatus (1) and at the level of a patient interface e.g. breathing inhaler (8), that is arranged on a breathing tube (4), where the adjusting element is of circular, round or square shape. An operation state is activated by the adjusting element with a button, based on a selection of a user. The breathing apparatus and the adjusting element are communicated through a radio interface or a cable. An independent claim is also included for a method of initiating breathing defined with a breathing gas supplying device.
