Bump stop for telescopic MacPherson strut of motor vehicle's steering wheel, has ring rubbing on washer to create static friction torque higher than friction torque generated by balls, where created torque is higher than one Newton meter
Bump stop for telescopic MacPherson strut of motor vehicle's steering wheel, has ring rubbing on washer to create static friction torque higher than friction torque generated by balls, where created torque is higher than one Newton meter
The stop has a roller bearing (20) including metallic upper and lower washers (24, 22) respectively defining upper and lower running rails. The lower washer rotates with respect to the upper washer around a geometrical rotational axis. Bearing balls (26) are arranged between the rails, and a friction ring (34) is fixed to one of the washers. The ring rubs on the other washer so as to create a static friction torque higher than a static friction torque generated by the balls, where the created torque is higher than 1 Newton meter.
