The method involves applying an opening phase to exhaust gas by an exhaust valve and applying another opening phase to intake gas by an intake valve in a combustion chamber. A third phase of opening is applied by the intake valve after the latter opening phase for generating aerodynamics, and the third phase of opening by the intake valve is applied after the former opening phase in a detente phase of piston of combustion chamber. A closing phase to intake the gas is applied between the latter and third opening phases to the intake gas by the intake valve. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising a cylinder assembly with piston and cylinder.
