The device has a sealing strip (15) and a rigid spacer (12) intercalated between a lower flange (3) and an upper flange (4) of a pipe connection system, where the strip is made of fabric e.g. fiber or woven web. A grid (13) maintains the sealing strip along the spacer. A bolt (16) maintains a sealing joint (11) between the lower flange and the upper flange. The grid has a width higher than that of the spacer, and is arranged between the lower flange and the spacer. The grid and the spacer are made of stainless steel.
