The method involves determining characteristics of a print material e.g. jet of ink, of an original document, and determining a mark to differentiate an original from a copy based on the characteristics of the material to be implemented for printing the mark on the document. The mark is printed by using the print material for forming the original document. A limit value to be utilized by a copy detection material is determined based on the printing of the mark for discriminating the original document from a copy of the original document.
