The track has a storage system i.e. temporary locking mechanism (100), including a notched locking bar (37), and a locking unit (34) movable between locking and rest positions. An electro-magnetic actuator (31) is integrated to a movable sliding element and displaces the unit towards its locking position at the reception of an actuation control. A control unit has a reading unit that is connected to a CPU. The control unit is connected to the actuator and transmits the control to the actuator to prevent relative displacement of the element and a fixed sliding element above a preset position. The unit (34) is not co-operated with steps (38) for authorizing the relative displacement of the sections along a longitudinal direction in the rest position, and is co-operated with the steps for prohibiting the displacement of the sections along the direction in the locking position. The fixed and movable sliding elements are in the form of respective U-shaped and inverse U-shaped cut and folded sheet sections. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle seat comprising a backrest.
