The device (16) has a fan (20) assembled in upstream of a heat exchanger by considering an air circulation direction and provided with a hub (26) and blades (30). The blades are oriented relative to the hub around a horizontal longitudinal axis (28) of the hub so as to modify the geometry of the fan and to modulate air flow resistance of the device. A temperature sensor detects the temperature of a coolant circulating across a heat exchanger. An independent claim is also included for method for regulating air flow sent across a heat exchanger.
