Diesel engine controlling method for motor vehicle, involves correcting set points of operating parameters of diesel engine based on estimation of clogging state of exhaust gas recirculation heat exchanger
The method involves correcting set points of operating parameters of a diesel engine (1) based on estimation of a clogging state of an exhaust gas recirculation heat exchanger (6) e.g. air/air heat exchanger. The clogging state is estimated by measuring an equivalent section and thermal efficiency of the heat exchanger based on a recycled gas rate. The measured values are compared with cartographic values in models relative to the heat exchanger at an initial non-clogged state. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a diesel engine controlling method.
