The structure has a V-shaped groove (30) formed in an inner surface of an air-tight reception space (21) of a plastic battery case (20). The space has an open end to receive an electrode plate and an electrolyte (50). The groove has an open side directed towards interior of the case, and a thin working part (32) arranged between a base of the groove and an outer surface of the case. The working part is bulged towards exterior and becomes thin when internal pressure of gas in the case exceeds a preset value, so as to form a slit (33) for releasing the pressure.
