The method involves measuring an optical density of an aqueous composition for different wave lengths from a range of wave length comprised in a near infrared field using a reflexive spectroscopy. The contribution of water in the aqueous composition is determined with the measured optical density by a programmed processing unit, while calculating a spectrum of the optical density of the water such that a part of the calculated spectrum corresponds to a part of a spectrum of the optical density measured for the aqueous composition.
