The method involves defining a pair of public keys and a secret key. Data is transmitted to a confidence authority (1). Another secret key associated to a member (Mi) of a list is selected. The latter key and a certificate are transmitted to the member. A sequence identifier is supplied to an authorized authority (3) before being used by the member. The data comprising authentication data is supplied by the member, where the authentication data is calculated based on specific formula including parameters e.g. public element and certificate. The secret keys are implemented without revealing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising program code instructions for implementing a list signature method (2) a removable data storage medium comprising program code instructions for implementing the list signature method.
