The method involves implementing a given task to activate a microprocessor (2) of an accessory e.g. sunroof (1a). An operation pertaining to functionality of the accessory is controlled by the microprocessor. A delay is established after the operation is completed. The microprocessor is placed in a sleep mode by engaging the microprocessor in a waiting loop to reduce energy consumption, and the microprocessor is awaked by removing the microprocessor from the loop after the delay is removed, when a request for executing a new operation pertaining to the functionality is received.
