The method involves determining an initial contour of an object in an image, and applying an iterative process e.g. active contour process, to displace the contour such that the contour is connected to a real contour of the object at each iteration. A constraint point in the image is determined. The initial contour is modified such that the initial contour includes the constraint point. The process is applied on the modified contour such that the initial contour includes the constraint point at each iteration. An independent claim is also included for an image processing device for determining a boundary between an object and a remaining part of a digitized image.
