The device has a determining unit determining an entry moment (31) and an exit moment (32) of an individual (2) in and out of the place (L1), respectively. A sensor (4) is installed to measure noise in the place. A controller (5) is communicated with the determining unit and the sensor, where the controller defines duration of the individual stay in the place. The controller defines values representing sound exposition of the individual, during the stay. The controller emits signals representing the sound exposition of the individual during its stay between the moments. An independent claim is also included for a method for evaluating a sound exposure of an individual remained in the place.
