PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device, and a system for maintaining a SIP survivable user agent. PSOLUTION: The method is adapted to allow the user agent 108 to detect the state of the network 104, thus providing the user agent 108 to perform failover/failback operations. The user agent may be adapted to determine the state of the network based on its own monitoring mechanisms and/or based on messages received from other network components.
