STARTER MOTOR AND RETAINER RING FOR SHAFT OF STARTER MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a C-ring from falling off during engine start while keeping weight increase of a starter motor at the minimum.;SOLUTION: The C-rings 73, 97 attached to a pinion gear 14 and an idling gear 15 of the starter motor 1 are formed in a C-shape having a center O1 of an inner diameter and a center O2 of an outer diameter eccentrically arranged. In the C-rings 73, 97, a plate width b2 at opening opposing parts 73b, 97b is set larger than a plate width b1 at opening parts 73a, 97a to keep rigidity in a direction opening a retainer ring for a shaft high. Consequently, the C-rings 73, 97 are not largely deformed to prevent the pinion gear 14 and the idling gear 15 from falling off even if the pinion gear 14 and the idling gear 15 rotate at high speed and centrifugal force acting on the C-rings 73, 97 increase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
