DETECTION METHOD OF CLOGGING OF METAL STRIP IN COIL OPENER AND GUIDING METHOD OF LEADING END OF METAL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease of operating rate of a process line and to save man power by automating crop cutting work for cutting a shape defect part of the leading end 7a of a metal strip wound off from a coil 7 using a coil opener 4 or nose bending work for bending the leading end by providing a detection method of clogging of the metal strip in the coil opener 4 and a guiding method of the leading end of the metal strip.;SOLUTION: The clogging of the metal strip in the coil opener 4 is determined by the fact that an absolute value of the difference of really measured electric current values of motors 6a, 6b for driving cradle rolls 6 exceeds a specified value. The leading end part of a rounded and clogged metal strip is flattened by rewinding the leading end 7a of the metal band which is wound off, and thereafter the leading end 7a of the metal band wound in a coil shape is wound off again by rotating the cradle rolls 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
