DIET COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF PREPARING DIET FOOD AND PET FOOD THEREFROM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diet composition comprising a water-soluble dietary fiber and water-insoluble dietary fiber to exhibit excellent effects on lifestyle-related diseases, and to provide a diet food and a pet food. PSOLUTION: Provided is an excellent diet food composition produced by compounding a water-soluble dietary fiber powder composed mainly of inulin with a 2-20-time weight of an insoluble dietary fiber powder selected from wheat bran, rice bran and soybean fiber and containing not less than about 10 g of the dietary fibers in total in terms of about 100 kcal per meal and containing 1 g of inulin in the dietary fiber. The total water balance can be controlled to give a baked food having good taste by whipping the water-soluble dietary fiber composed mainly of inulin with water and an oil-and-fat in advance to obtain a whipped composition. When compounding gluten, a previously formed gluten texture is compounded to an insoluble dietary fiber powder and, accordingly, the fermentation is performed uniformly without destructing the gluten texture to obtain a good foamed food.
