PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphus alloy ribbon and a magnetic core, having excellent long-term thermal stability.;SOLUTION: This amorphous alloy ribbon is characterized in that: it has an alloy composition comprising FeaSibBcCdCreMnf with inevitable impurities (where (a)=79 to 83 atomic%, (b)=0 to 10 atomic%, (c)=10 to 18 atomic%, (d)=0.05 to 2 atomic%, (e)=0.01 to 0.2 atomic% and (f)=0.05 to 0.3%); and, when the peak concentration of carbon C segregating in a position at a depth of 2 to 25 nm from the surface of the ribbon and the content of the above carbon are represented by p1(atomic%) and (d), respectively, p1/d≤1.5 is satisfied. The amorphous alloy ribbon is subjected to heat treatment where temperature is not lower than 345°C but not higher than the crystallization temperature and the temperature is held for 1 hour.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
