PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely and efficiently generating chlorine dioxide at an arbitrary concentration and an arbitrary time using no mechanical device and using only a substance of high safety, to solve the problems that chlorine dioxide which is useful for sterilization and odor elimination is not safe and thus a mechanical device must be used in large scale facilities, and that in the case of making a small quality chlorine dioxide must be made using a strong acid which is poor in safety or a weak acid which is low in reactivity.;SOLUTION: This method can control the concentration of chlorine dioxide and the time required to generate it, using succinic anhydride and maleic anhydride of which particle diameter is controlled, in the generation of chlorine dioxide, and a method of using a chemical dryer for storing the material stably is also disclosed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
