PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for preventing the invasion of Formicidae, attachable to grounding members of existing food-storing bodies and food-carrying tables having various shapes, and sustaining the effects of an insect repellent over a long period. PSOLUTION: The tool for preventing the invasion of the Formicidae contains an ester compound represented by formula (1) [wherein, RSP1/SPis a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; RSP2/SPis a methyl group or a group represented by CH=CRSP21/SPRSP22/SP(wherein, RSP21/SPand RSP22/SPare each independently a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a chlorine atom); and RSP3/SPis a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a methoxymethyl group] formulated with a base material comprising a resin 3, and has an attaching means to be attached to a leg part 5 of the existing food material-storing body or food material-carrying table 2.
