PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a replacement method for a main column material which enables the replacement of a defective main column material to be simply and rapidly carried out by providing a connection fixture structure suitable for the steel pipe main column material of a steel pipe tower.;SOLUTION: The replacement method for the main column material comprises a process for mounting the connection fixture structure on the main column material to be replaced, a process for assembling a temporary surrounding iron tower, a process for installing a temporary arm to the temporary surrounding iron tower and transferring an electric wire support device, a process for loosening the upper flange bolt of the main column material to be replaced, a process for hanging up a leg corresponding to the main column material to be replaced with a predetermined distance, and a process for replacing the main column material with a new one. The connection fixture structure comprises a connection plate with a predetermined length, a pair of first bands divided into two bands supported on the connection plate, a pair of second bands divided into two bands which are detachably bolted to the first bands divided into two bands, and a connecting angle steel member with a predetermined length supported on the other side of the connection plate.
