PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a veneer plate (hereinafter simply referred to as a veneer) to a standard length which improves the quality of the standard length veneers than before.;SOLUTION: The veneer peeling/cutting treatment process performs, as to a band-like veneer 6b not having an unnecessary part y among veneers 6A, 6B that are peeled off from a log by a veneer lathe and have a uniform thickness, successive standard length cutting to every predetermined length h and forms in succession standard length veneers 6c having a predetermined size. In the process, the overall length W of the band-like veneer 6b peeled off when each log is peeled up to a given peeling core diameter is calculated predictively; a specific place k is calculated, the place wherein the length L, which is calculated backward from the boundary place p between the inferior veneer 6e that is collaterally formed in the tail end of the band-like veneer 6b and has a triangle shape in the cross-section when expanded and the band-like veneer 6b, becomes, within the range of the overall length W calculated predictively, an added length of a sacrificial length g fixed in advance and an integral multiple length of the standard length h of the standard length veneers 6c; and the standard length cutting treatment is started with the specific place k as the starting place of the standard length cutting.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
