PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide suppressing the activation of microglial cells in the Central Nervous System (CNS), or ameliorating or treating the neurological effects of cerebral ischemia or cerebral inflammation, the treatment of peripheral inflammatory conditions such as sepsis by a peptide, and a method of combating specific diseases that affect the CNS by administering a peptide that binds to microglial cell receptors and prevents or reduces microglial cell activation. PSOLUTION: The method includes ApoE receptor binding peptides and further one or more compounds chosen from a group consisting of an anti-inflammatory cytokine and monoclonal antibody.
