PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object motion estimation device for estimating a speed in a space from a video obtained by one or more cameras, and for generating a speed field showing the motions of a plurality of objects or persons.;SOLUTION: This object motion estimation device is provided with: a gradient coefficient processing part 3 for acquiring a change amount of coordinates on image coordinates corresponding to the change of the coordinates of three-dimensional points when projecting the three-dimensional points on an object prepared at a position X in a space to an image obtained by a camera; a spatio-temporal gradient processing part 2 for acquiring a temporal gradient on which the contrast change of a horizontal direction and a vertical direction on an image at a certain time t in a time series is reflected and a temporal gradient in consideration of temporal contrast change between the image at the pertinent time t and the image at a time t+Δt by defining a time interval as Δt ; and an object speed estimation part 4 for, when constraints in the time interval Δt satisfied by the spatial gradient, temporal gradient and the change quantity of the image on the image coordinates are satisfied, casting a vote to the place of the speed in a speed map as a voting space, and for determining the speed by which the value of votes is maximized as the speed of an object at the position X.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
