PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing the risk of erroneously transmitting a FAX document. PSOLUTION: A facsimile transmission/reception system includes a communication device, a facsimile machine and a server. The communication device correspondingly registers in the server first recipient identification information for identifying a recipient of a document to be transmitted, document data that are data of the document, and first document identification information for identifying the document. The facsimile machine transmits to the server second recipient identification information for identifying a recipient of a document to be received and second document identification information for identifying the document. The server determines whether or not the first recipient identification information and the first document identification information corresponding to the document data registered by the communication device is matched with the second recipient identification information and the second document identification information received from the facsimile machine and if matched, the server transmits the document data to the facsimile machine.
