PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile transmission/reception system, a facsimile transmission/reception device for use for the same, and a facsimile transmission/reception method, capable of correctly adjusting the sound volume of a facsimile transmission signal corresponding to a line (network) class.SOLUTION: The facsimile transmission/reception device comprises: a sound volume memory device 13 for storing FAX signal transmission sound volume information for each of a plurality of communication network; from information to identify a communication network for use for FAX signal transmission, added to a connection response signal transmitted from a FAX terminal, in response to a connection request signal destined to the FAX terminal to which the FAX signal is to be transmitted, and information stored in the sound volume memory device 13, a sound volume information acquisition unit 10b for acquiring the FAX signal transmission sound volume information for use for the FAX signal transmission; and based on the acquired input signal transmission sound volume information, a sound volume setting unit 10c for setting the FAX signal transmission sound volume to transmit the FAX signal.
