PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve voltage utilization factor in a power conversion circuit for converting a single-phase AC power into a polyphase AC power using a matrix converter, which has a power ripple absorbing circuit for absorbing power ripples of the single-phase AC power.;SOLUTION: The power conversion circuit 1 is provided with a single-phase/four-phase conversion circuit 10 and the matrix converter 20, wherein the single-phase/four-phase power conversion circuit 10 converts the single-phase AC power into symmetrical four-phase AC power, and then the matrix converter 20 converts the symmetrical four-phase AC power into symmetrical three-phase AC power. Also, the single-phase/four-phase conversion circuit 10 has capacitors 12a, 12b for absorbing power ripples of the single-phase AC power generated by the power supplies 11a, 11b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
