PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradient magnetic field coil which can suppress the generation of an unnecessary magnetic field component while ensuring the easy workability in the winding of a conductive wire. PSOLUTION: This gradient magnetic field coil includes a cylindrical bobbin on which a conductor is wound, and a wire winding section by which the conductor is wound on the bobbin by a plurality of turns. The wire winding section has a first wire winding section and a second wire winding section. In this case, on the first wire winding section, the conductor is wound to be orthogonal to the axis of the bobbin in the circumference of the bobbin.
