PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of cracks in a die and a green compact by controlling the surface roughness of the die not only based on the maximum height (Ry) but based on a load to the die caused by side face pressure and frictional resistance characteristic of the die for high pressure compacting where powder is compacted under high pressure, so as to reduce extraction force upon the compression and extraction of the green compact.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a die where powder is packed into the die, and the powder is compressed with a punch, so as to form a green compact, and, regarding the surface roughness of the die face in the die surrounding the cavity with which the punch is brought into slidable contact, the load length ratio (tp) at a cutting level of 0.1 μm parallel to the summit line of the maximum height is controlled to ≥60% to the standard length.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
