METAL COLLOID-COLORED GLASS CERAMIC AND COLORLESS GLASS CONVERTIBLE INTO THE SAME GLASS CERAMIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find conditions enabling the production of colloid-former-containing colorless precursor glass that is convertible into a colorless transparent glass ceramic through a single appropriate heat-treatment or into a metal colloid-colored glass ceramic by choosing either the same heat-treatment or other heat-treatments that induce coloration of the glass ceramic by a thermal program selected for ceramization treatment and further conducting a heat-treatment.;SOLUTION: At least one metal colloid former containing at least one metal chosen from Au, Ag, As, Bi, Nb, Cu, Fe, Pd, Pt, Sb and Sn and at least one redox partner containing at least one element chosen from As, Ce, Fe, Mn, Sb, Sn and W are incorporated in the colorless transparent metal colloid former-containing glass to enable its conversion into the colorless transparent glass ceramic or the metal colloid-colored glass ceramic.
