DIAGNOSIS OF ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM ANOMALY, FAIL-SAFE CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that fuel supply is performed due to an intentional mechanical anomaly of fuel system of an engine during an idle stop control, in a vehicle having an idle stop function, and there is a possibility that engine components may become damaged when releasing the idle stop control (when restarting the engine). PSOLUTION: A possibility of damage to engine components can be avoided by detecting a mechanical anomaly of a fuel system from detected values of various sensors provided in an engine and a vehicle during an idle stop control, and by prohibiting release of the idle stop control. Further, it becomes possible to achieve ensuring an exhaust performance by forcibly releasing the idle stop control during anomaly of fuel system as necessary. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
