PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buried object searching method and the like capable, for example, of finding out the distance and outer diameter of a buried object buried in a concrete structure.;SOLUTION: The buried object searching method is arranged to include the steps of: inserting an ECT sensor 2 into a test hole made in a concrete structure and moving the ETC sensor 2 in the test hole 12; when the ECT sensor 2 detects a buried object (buried pipe) 30 on the move and two peaks P1 and P2 and a valley between the peaks P1 and P2 appear in the amplitude of a signal detected by the ETC sensor, calculating the maximum amplitude W1 and the ratio (W2/W1) of the depth W2 of the valley to the maximum amplitude W1 from the signal detected by the ETC sensor; and calculating the distance d1 from the ETC sensor to the buried object (buried pipe) and the outer diameter d2 of the buried object (buried pipe) in accordance with data on the maximum amplitude W1 and the ratio (W2/W1) of the depth W2 of the valley to the maximum amplitude W1 and data on the maximum amplitude W1 and the ratio (W2/W1) of the depth W2 of the valley to the maximum amplitude W1 that have been calculated in advance in a searching test.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
