CULTURE OF HUMAN CNS (CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM) NEURAL STEM CELL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing neural stem cells, which increases cell proliferation rate, increases neuron counts in a differentiated cell population, and modifies the survival degree of stem cell implants in making transplantation to a host. PSOLUTION: New human stem cells having a doubling rate of 5-10 days are provided. New human CNS neural stem cells including a standard proliferating medium for extending the proliferation of human neural stem cells are also provided. Further, a method for proliferating, differentiating and transplanting the above human CNS neural stem cells is provided. The cell culture medium includes the standard proliferating medium, effective amounts of one or more growth factors such as LIF stimulating the neural stem cell proliferation.
