PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an optical pulse signal with enough strong peak intensity of optical pulse and with enough small duty ratio of the same.;SOLUTION: An optical pulse signal generator 50 includes: a monochromatic optical pulse train generation part 10; an optical pulse width expander 12; an optical modulator 14; and an optical pulse width reducer 16. The monochromatic light pulse train generation part 10 generates and outputs a monochromatic light pulse train 11. The light pulse width expander 12 has an input monochromatic light pulse train and expands the total halfwidth of the monochromatic light pulse and further generates and outputs a total halfwidth expansion light pulse train 13. The light modulator 14 has an input total halfwidth expansion light pulse train and modulates it with a binary digital signal format transmission information 19 and further generates and outputs a total halfwidth expansion light pulse signal 15.
