PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the cell of a spectrophotometer which ensures a sufficient light path length even with respect to a very small amount of a specimen and precisely measures the absorbance of the specimen, and to provide the spectrophotometer.;SOLUTION: A measuring cell 52 is constituted of a fine pipe part 53 for a light waveguide comprising quartz glass and a specimen filling fine pipe part 54 and, when the measuring cell 52 is filled with the specimen 100, the fine pipe part 53 for the light waveguide functions as the light waveguide. The spectrophotometer 4 has a light injection means 60 and a light receiving means 65 and inspection light is thrown on one opening end 53a of the fine pipe part 53 for the light waveguide by the light injection means 60. The incident light is transmitted through the specimen while subjected to the total reflection in the fine pipe part 53 for the light waveguide and emitted from the other opening end 53b.
