PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and speedily detect the thickness of a sheet by a sheet carrier device without providing a sensor.;SOLUTION: This sheet carrier device 99 is furnished with a resist roller 29, a resist front roller 93a to butt the sheet against the resist roller 29, a load torque computing part 111 to detect load torque of a resist front roller driving motor 102a to drive the resist front roller 93a, a load torque variation detection part 112 to detect colliding timing that the sheet collides against the resist roller 29 by detecting variation of the load torque and a thickness detection part 101 to output the load torque at the colliding timing as the load torque in correspondence with the thickness of the sheet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
