PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new way for rendering images on a display surface, which has a different resolution or aspect ratio to increase viewing experience and without a need for any extra special equipment.;SOLUTION: An output image 131 is obtained from an input image 101. The input image 101 is scaled to generate a foreground image 111, in which a content of the foreground image corresponds directly to a content of the input image, and in which a resolution of the foreground image when displayed is smaller than a resolution of a display surface 150. The input image 101 is also transformed to a background image 121, in which a content of the background image depends indirectly on the input image, and in which a resolution of the background image is larger than the resolution of the foreground image 111.
