PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which permits feature quantities which are particularly effective in building a model of a target having complexity and individuality and different in character to be efficiently prepared. PSOLUTION: The feature quantity candidate preparation device includes a storage means to store the values of feature quantities extracted from a plurality of samples, an index value computation means to compute index values obtained by normalizing the number of kinds of the values of feature quantities by the number of samples for every feature quantity, an evaluation target selection means to select a combination of feature quantities to be evaluated from the kinds of feature quantities, an evaluation means to evaluate whether or not the uniformity of a frequency distribution of index values of each feature quantity on the basis of a prescribed reference regarding a combination of feature quantities chosen as a target of evaluation, a feature quantity candidate decision means to decide on a combination of feature quantities evaluated as satisfying the prescribed reference by the evaluation means as feature quantity candidate to be given to a model preparation device.
