PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for introducing sperms to an egg, technically easy and giving less damages to the egg, and to provide a method for the treatment of infertility using such a method. PSOLUTION: This method for promoting the fusion of a fusion-incompetent egg with the sperms is provided, by mixing the fusion-incompetent egg which is the egg having no sperm fusion capacity or a low sperm fusion capacity, with the sperm in the presence of the egg, having four-fold membrane-penetrating type protein CD9 or aphrosome. The method for preparing the fusion-incompetent egg, fused with the sperm comprises mixing the fusion-incompetent egg which is the egg having no sperm fusion capacity or the low sperm fusion capacity, with the sperm in the presence of the egg having the four-fold membrane-penetrating type protein CD9 or aphrosome for promoting the fusion of the fusion-incompetent egg with the sperm and retrieving the fusion-incompetent egg fused with the sperm. The method for in vitro fertilization comprises the introduction of the fusion-incompetent egg fused with the sperm, prepared by this method into a mammalian mother's body, other than human.
