PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a cell sheet by a simple manipulation using a substrate coated with a commercially available material whose safety has been confirmed. PSOLUTION: The method for producing a cell sheet not substantially containing fibrin comprises culturing cells on a fibrin-coated surface of a substrate until the cells reach a saturated state, continuing the cultivation of the cells for a sufficient time period to cause the degradation of fibrin at the bottom of the cells, and then releasing the cultured cells from the substrate surface in a sheet-like form.
