SCENE DISCRIMINATION DEVICE AND SCENE DISCRIMINATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a scene at high speed.;SOLUTION: This scene discrimination device is provided with a first part discrimination unit for evaluating whether or not a partial image is belonging to a first scene based on partial feature values showing the features of a partial image configuring a part of a target image, and for determining that the target image is belonging to the first scene according to an evaluation result showing that the partial image is belonging to the first scene; and a second part discrimination unit for determining that the target image is belonging to a second scene whose features are different from those of the first scene based on the partial feature values when it is not determined that the target image is belonging to the first scene by the first part discrimination unit. The first part discrimination unit determines that the target image is not belonging to the second scene according to the evaluation result showing that the partial image is belonging to the first scene when it is not determined that the target image is belonging to the first scene.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
