PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a defect in which it is not coincident with an elbow point when a brightness/darkness border line is inclined to a right and downward side since a straight line horizontal to an X axis determined from an average value of Y coordinate of an actual luminous intensity distribution is set to a horizontal cut off line and an intersection of the horizontal cut off line and the oblique cut off line is regarded as the elbow point in a conventional elbow point detection method for a vehicular head light.;SOLUTION: The elbow point detection method for the head light comprises a step for detecting a luminous intensity distribution image by a luminous intensity distribution detection camera; a step for operating the brightness/darkness border line 15 on an XY coordinate axis from the detected luminous intensity distribution by an operation means; a step for operating a variation amount in a Y axis direction per a unit X axis direction of the brightness/darkness border line at a plurality of points y0-y10 on the brightness/darkness border line respectively; a step for operating difference of a variation amount at the point and a variation amount at the adjacent point in respective point respectively; and a step for setting the point that the operated difference becomes a desired value or higher of the respective points to the elbow point 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
