PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device operational status detection system, a device positional information transmission system and a device operational status detection unit capable of detecting an operational status of a device in simple configuration.;SOLUTION: The device operational status detection system includes a device 10 comprising an air blowing section 12, an air receiving section 20 which displaces (rotates or swings) while receiving air blown from the air blowing section 12, and a detection section 30 for detecting the movement of the air receiving section 20. The detection section 30 includes a light-emitting element 32 and a light-receiving element 34. When the air receiving section 20 rotates or swings, the quantity of light for the light-receiving element 34 to receive light emitted from the light-emitting element 32 is changed.
