NEW METHOD FOR QUICKLY EXTRACTING USEFUL COMPONENT IN INDIGO LEAF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time to extract useful components such as tryptanthrin which is recognized to have antibacterial action against the fungi of the genus Malassezia present in indigo leaves since the extraction of these components with an organic solvent such as dichloromethane needs a long time of not less than 24 hours at room temperature.;SOLUTION: The microwave irradiation in the process of extracting useful components from indigo leaves remarkably increases the extraction speed, and within 30 minutes of the extraction time, with respect to fresh leaves, within 5 minutes, the useful components such as tryptanthrin can be extracted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
