PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitch type identification apparatus capable of determining the type of a pitch from a picture of the pitch taken by a single camera.;SOLUTION: This pitch type identification apparatus B has: a learning result storage device (identifier storage mans ) 5 prestoring identifiers for identifying the pitch type based on trajectory data, or information on the positions of pitches in respective frame images of the respective pitch pictures of a plurality of pitches, and trajectory data mechanically leaned based on information of pitch types previously associated with the respective pitches; a pitch trajectory analysis device (a pitch trajectory analysis means) 2b for inputting a picture of the pitch, or an identified object, extracting the pitch in each frame image of the image and generating trajectory data; and a pitch identification device (pitch type identification means) 6 for identifying the type of the pitch, or the identified object, based on the trajectory data generated by the pitch trajectory device 2b using the identifier stored in the learning result storage device 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
