WELDING INSPECTION SYSTEM OF SPHERICAL TANK

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding inspection system of a spherical tank capable of inspecting efficiently a weld zone of the spherical tank, while securing safety of an inspection work. PSOLUTION: Each GPS transmitter for emitting mutually synchronously position measuring information is arranged respectively on a plurality of vertex positions forming a polyhedral space enclosing the spherical tank. An automotive traveling device capable of traveling along the surface of the spherical tank is loaded with a GPS receiver for determining own position on the surface of the spherical tank by receiving position measuring information from at least three GPS transmitters respectively, and with a traveling control device for controlling traveling on the trace of a weld line of the spherical tank by comparing coordinate data showing the weld line of the spherical tank determined beforehand with own position on the spherical tank determined by the GPS receiver.
